One of my best friends was Paul, a college friend and my roommate during my late junior & senior years.
Born 23-May 1962, he passed away in 2007 about a month before his 45th birthday.

On Tuesday, April 24, 2007, PAUL A. SCHMIDTCHEN, son of the late Paul and June K. Schmidtchen, brother of Lynn Benach and her husband Douglas, uncle of Dylan and Noelle Benach, nephew of William R. Kroeger; also survived by many friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends at the family owned Peaceful Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Center, P.A., 2325 York Road,Timonium on Saturday, April 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association, Maryland Office, 800 Wyman Park Drive, 1st floor, Baltimore, MD 21211.

There are so many nice things that I could say about this very good friend of mine. Paul is truly the epitome of a friend. Always there for you in a time of need and just as present to share a story or laugh. Though a very smart guy, he always presented the modest side of himself. The thing I think I’ll miss the most is his wry sense of humor. He had a way of poking fun at things, people, and himself that never failed to get a chuckle from every one in the vicinity, even the target of his line. So long my friend, this place called earth shall be a lonelier place to live in without you.
